Tilting The Negative: Tilting pan: The rotary tilting pan Filter is similar in form to the Table filter, except the cloth is replaced by a series of annular sectors or compartments, each one of which is lined along its perforated bottom by an individual Filter cloth. After suspension is introduced to the compartments, filtration, deliquoring and washing take place under the required vacuum before cake discharge is achieved by a relatively complex tilting mechanism.Architects, for traditional reasons, do not want to see normal perspective in verticals, and they have educated others who will be your customers to have the same taste. But you can give them what they want by shooting with a view camera. Actually, it is possible to shoot with any Camera and then bring the verticals into parallel by tilting the negative and the easel during the process of enlarging.
5. Never be too proud to reshoot a poor negative. Did you make an error in exposure? Did your tripod slip and cause a fuzzy negative? Or did you make one of the other dozens of errors which can almost but not quite ruin a negative? If so, do not try to cover up by struggling with the negative by means of darkroom trickery, but instead shoot the picture over again if that is at all possible. To reshoot is to confess a measure of failure to "your client, of course, but you can make up for that by going all-out for a masterpiece on your second try. |
