Portrait Aspects: This kickback is a worthwhile contribution on your part, because it will induce the officers to urge all the members to buy your prints.
You can offer to do publicity pictures for any special events arranged by the organization, and for this you should charge your regular fee, since there is a small return here from sales of extra prints.
You can offer party picture coverage, along the lines described in Chapter 7, for any social functions arranged by a club, and find this highly lucrative through sales of prints.
And then you can go into the portrait aspects of your coverage of the organization. This involves shooting a portrait of every member of the organization, at no charge whatever for the service, and this offer is your ace in the hole for getting yourself assigned as the official photographer for any group.Sometimes it was a single print, at other times several prints side by side, giving different aspects of the subject but grouped as "one Portrait." Well, they were just portraits of those men, compellingly intimate, betrayals (if I may so use the word) of personality, satisfying in likeness, convincing in characterization, instinct with the illusion of life. They gave one the impression of being in the presence of the men whom they portrayed.
