Many photographers don't want to be bothered with the details of marketing their work, and gladly pay a picture agent a commission, ranging from 30 per cent to 50 per cent of the sales price, for doing their selling. This method of operation is recommended, because the agent makes it his business to know pictures and to know the market and is in perfect position to get the best price which your transparencies wiU bring. You don't need to be a producing professional to get an agent to represent you, either. If you have salable transparencies, even a few of them, an agent will gladly handle them for you. They are continually looking for new photographers. |
